Hypothetical Worms Booru tag ideas

Notes

Multiple word tags here use underscores because that's how it usually is on Boorus. If the Booru was based on Philomena, words would be separated with spaces, it could support more symbols, and if you wanted to search with multiple tags you'd separate them with commas.

If the Booru was Philomena based, it could have "Implies" and "Implied by" tag strings to make tagging a little more convenient.

Game generation and specific game tags could be added to fanart under the "tag what you see" rule if it looks similar enough in terms of style or there's focus on a canon character who doesn't look like a plain worm.

I'm aware there are non-Team17 worm characters, such as Earthworm Jim. If a tag is meant to be used only for worms, I mean Team17 worms specifically.

Due to the subjective nature of colours, more than one tag could be used to describe colour of certain elements, e.g. "blue_hair" and "aqua_hair", or "brown_eyes" and "red_eyes" could be used simultaneously.

A little warning: out of all the entries I'm most familiar with W4M/WUM, Worms: Revolution amd Worms Rumble. Conversely, the 1st gen and 3rd gen games are the least familiar to me.

I split the text into several sub-spoilers because of how much space it takes in total. Some NSFW images are present.

Copyright

official

Materials made/licensed by Team17, like concept art, sprites, 3D renders, screenshots from pre-rendered cutscenes, trailers, OSTs, game box covers, plush toys, figurines from Worms: The Board Game. Do NOT use this tag for edits and memes.

g1

Aliases: worms_g1, first_gen, 1st_gen, gen1; analogous aliases could exist for the rest of the generation tags.

Implied by: worms_(1995), worms_and_reinforcements_united, worms_the_directors_cut

1st generation games: Worms (1995), Worms and Reinforcements United, Worms: The Directors Cut. Worms (1995) was the beginning of the Worms series.

Official art of this generation depicts worms with significantly more anthropomorphic bodies with pink segmented skin which is closer to real life earthworms, large noses and arms. In-game sprites of worms are really tiny and minimalistic.

worms_(1995)

Aliases: worms1, worms_1, original_worms, total_wormage, totalwormage

Implies: g1

Not to be confused with the 2007 game.

The debut game, released in 1995. Known as Total Wormage during the prototype stage.

g2

Implied by: worms_2, worms_armageddon, worms_world_party, online_worms, worms_world_party_aqua, worms_world_party_remastered, worms_armageddon_anniversary_edition

2nd generation games: Worms 2, Worms Armageddon, Worms World Party, Online Worms, Worms World Party Aqua, Worms World Party Remastered, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition. This generation started with Worms 2 which came out in 1997.

This is the first generation to depict "cute" toony worms with no noses, floating hands and non-segmented bodies, which became the base for consequent designs. Though some covers show arms and noses.

worms_2

Alias: worms2

Implies: g2

2nd generation game released in 1997. Would later become the base for the much more popular Worms Armageddon.

worms_armageddon

Aliases: wa, wormsarmageddon. Could possibly include misspellings.

Implies: g2

2nd generation game released in 1999. The most popular game in the series. In 2024 it got console release known as Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition.

worms_armageddon_anniversary_edition

Aliases: waae... how else do you simplify this mouthful?

Implies: g2, worms_armageddon

2024 console re-release of Worms Armageddon, includes a digital museum and the emulated version of the Game Boy Color port.

3d_variants

Implied by: worms_3d, worms_forts_under_siege, worms_4_mayhem, worms_ultimate_mayhem, worms_mayhem

Games which utilise three dimensions in their gameplay: Worms 3D, Worms Forts: Under Siege, Worms 4: Mayhem, Worms: Ultimate Mayhem. This kind of games started with Worms 3D which came out in 2003. These games are not assigned to any generation.

Do NOT use this tag for games with 3D graphics and 2D gameplay (G4 games, Worms Blast, Worms Rumble). ALSO do NOT use this tag for 3D posing content made in Gmod/SFM/MMD (unless Worms is the main point).

worms_3d

Aliases: w3d, worms3d

Implies: 3d_variants

The 1st game with 3D gameplay, released in 2003.

worms_forts_under_siege

Alias: wfus

Implies: 3d_variants

The 2nd game with 3D gameplay, released in 2004. The gameplay revolves around building forts - multiple buildings connected to each other with walls, with the stronghold being the starting and most important building. A team is eliminated when its stronghold is destroyed or all its worms die. The campaign has 4 storylines, each taking place in a different historical setting.

This is the first game with visual worm customisation, although it's limited to headwear. Worms in this game cannot be bareheaded.

The official renders associated with the game depict worms in a style which would be used later in Worms 4: Mayhem.

worms_4_mayhem

Aliases: w4m, worms4mayhem

Implies: worms_mayhem, 3d_variants

Not to be confused with Worms 4.

The 3rd game with 3D gameplay, released in 2005. The campaign revolves around a storyline where your team of worms travels in time and different places with Professor Worminkle. The game got an updated re-release named Worms: Ultimate Mayhem in 2011. If you find official concept art of W4M/WUM assets, you should use this tag.

This is the first game where the player can mix and match different customisation items on the worm. Many items also have more than one way of being worn. Some items have to be unlocked. Worms have a hint of brown/red colour in their eyes. Worms in a similar style would later be shown in some games' covers and cutscenes.

Do NOT use this tag for 3D posing content made in Gmod/SFM/MMD (the textures aren't even the same, they're from WUM).

worms_ultimate_mayhem

Aliases: wum, wormsultimatemayhem, ultimate_mayhem, ultimatemayhem

Implies: worms_mayhem, 3d_variants

The 4th and latest game with 3D gameplay, released in 2011. Worms: Ultimate Mayhem is an updated re-release of Worms 4: Mayhem, which includes the Worms 3D campaign, as well as introduces some new customisation items and maps via DLCs.

The textures for worms were updated, the most notable changes are changing the eye colour from brown/red to grey, removal of the lower lip shadow and replacement of the gritted teeth texture with the one from Worms 3D. Oddly, these changes do not apply to the Xbox 360 version.

Do NOT use this tag for 3D posing content made in Gmod/SFM/MMD (unless Worms is the main point), use "3d_posing" for those.

worms_mayhem

Alias: wormsmayhem

Implies: 3d_variants

Implied by: worms_4_mayhem, worms_ultimate_mayhem

Content related to Worms 4: Mayhem and/or Worms: Ultimate Mayhem. You can also use this tag when it's not clear or doesn't matter which exact game the content is related to (e.g. art focusing on Professor Worminkle).

Do NOT use this tag for 3D posing content made in Gmod/SFM/MMD (unless Worms is the main point), use "3d_posing" for those.

g3

Implied by: worms_open_warfare, worms_open_warfare_2, worms_(2007), worms_a_space_oddity, worms_2_armageddon, worms_reloaded, worms_battle_island

3rd generation games, which came out after Worms 4: Mayhem, returning to the 2D format, and were mostly for mobile phones, tablets and handheld consoles. These are Worms Open Warfare, Worms (2007), Worms Open Warfare 2, Worms: A Space Oddity, Worms 2: Armageddon, Worms Reloaded, Worms Battle Islands. This generation started with Worms Open Warfare which came out in 2006.

g4

Implied by: worms_revolution, worms_clan_wars, worms_battlegrounds, worms_3, worms_4

4th generation games, which are Worms: Revolution, Worms 3, Worms Clan Wars, Worms 4. This generation started with Worms: Revolution which came out in 2012.

The PC and console games mix 2D gameplay and 3D graphics and feature water with physics (which is in the middle of the map and only drains health each turn instead of killing instantly), the mobile games are fully 2D and don't have water physics. In all the games except Worms 4 the worms come in 4 classes which have different designs and special traits: Soldier, Scout, Heavy and Scientist. Worms 4 has a distinct art style which is angular and lineless.

While initially the Soldiers and Scouts may look like W4M/WUM style worms, there are some differences in style, such as eyebrows no longer being round.

g5

Implied by: worms_wmd, worms_wmd_mobilize

5th generation games: Worms W.M.D (2016) and Worms W.M.D: Mobilize (2023) which is the mobile version of the former.

Or maybe this tag wouldn't be a thing. Seems redundant to have it for 2 games, one of which is mobile.

worms_wmd

Aliases: wormswmd, wmd, wwmd

Implies: g5

The latest mainline Worms game, released in 2016 (ignoring Worms W.M.D: Mobilize). It features vehicles and a crafting system.

This game uses one of the most recognisable styles for worms: angular 2D style, solid oval eyes, long quadrangular eyebrows, sharp teeth, the fingers besides thumbs are not distinguished (unless necessary).

spinoff

Alias: spin-off

Implied by: worms_pinball, worms_blast, worms_crazy_golf, flockers, worms_rumble, worms_battle_rally, worms_crawl_of_duty, worms_(facebook)

Category of games which includes Worms Pinball, Worms Blast, Worms Crazy Golf, Flockers and Worms Rumble, as well as the unreleased Worms Battle Rally and Worms: Crawl of Duty, and the shutdown Worms on Facebook. Most of these games completely deviate from the usual gameplay, except Worms on Facebook. They are not assigned to any generation.

worms_blast

Alias: wormsblast

Implies: spinoff

Puzzle game released in 2002. It mainly revolves around shooting down colourful blocks while controlling the protagonist on a boat. The player can choose from several characters of different species, including Boggy B and his sister Suzette.

worms_rumble

Alias: wormsrumble

Implies: spinoff

Real-time action game released in 2020. This game is purely online multiplayer, as it doesn't have AI-controlled worms.

Worms in this game have long eyebrows, no overbite, significantly larger pupils and clearly visible irises. Visual worm customisation features one-piece suits, skin colouring (some options also have markings), eyes and teeth.

worms_(facebook)

Alias: worms_facebook, worms_on_facebook

Implies: spinoff, lost_media

Worms on Facebook was a Flash game released in 2012. It was shut down in 2013.

It looks pretty similar to the G3 games, maybe it could be assigned to the G3 category instead of spinoffs.

worms_the_board_game

Aliases: wtbg, worms_board_game, wormstheboardgame, wormsboardgame

Implies: board_game

Physical board game with grey worm figurines, released in 2024. If the figurines aren't modified by the owner, add "official", otherwise add "edit".

I don't know if it should be considered a spinoff, it's not even a video game.

flockers

Implies: spinoff

Flockers is a 2014 Lemmings type game where the main characters are sheep. The player must help the sheep escape the weapon factory. Unlike the rest of the franchise, this game is notably grim: upon death, the sheep bleed and get dismembered.

Sheep are significantly more detailed in this game, with eyes that show separation between pupils and sclera and a distinct way of portraying wool.

worms_battle_rally

Implies: spinoff, lost_media, unreleased

Worms Battle Rally was a karting spin-off that was being developed after Worms 3D, but got cancelled. Only 4 screenshots and the soundtrack of this game were released.

worms_crawl_of_duty

Implies: spinoff, lost_media, unreleased

Worms: Crawl of Duty was a proposed concept for a 3rd person shooter with a darker and more realistic atmosphere. Only a teaser and a few images related to this game were released. The images reuse the worm model from Worms 4: Mayhem, but the trailer shows remade pupils and 3D teeth.

crossover

Can be used for situations like worms meeting characters from other franchises, or non-worm characters depicted as worms / worms cosplaying non-worms (the line between these isn't clear).

in-franchise_crossover

Crossover between worms from different entries / generations.

beta

Aliases: beta_version, beta_game, game_beta

Early versions of the official games.

lost_media

Media that is no longer accessible or was never released, e.g. the promotional Worms 4 Mayhem e-toy, the shutdown Worms on Facebok and unreleased games.

unreleased

Official games and ports that never came out, such as the karting game Worms Battle Rally, the 3rd person shooter Worms: Crawl of Duty and the Gizmondo port of Worms World Party.

fangame

Aliases: fanmade_game, fan_game, fan-game

Fanmade games based on the Worms series.

ripoff

Aliases: rip-off, rip_off

Implied by: wormix, worm_battle_wormageddon

Games and NFTs that blatantly plagiarise Worms (games have worms as playable characters).

barely_worms_related

Images with a very minor / hard-to-notice presence of Worms, or memes which are about Worms but don't have any Worms imagery.

Memes which are too general to apply to Worms are not allowed.

subspoiler

User credit tags

These are described with Philomena in mind and may not work for other Booru engines (at least in the way I imagine). I'm also not sure if the same user can be credited with 2 of these on the same image.

artist:???

The user who drew/painted/modeled/crafted something, or composed the music, from the ground up.

The most important kind of tag in this section.

editor:???

The user who edited the content. Minor edits like cropping, rescaling or removing a 3rd party website watermark from official materials do not count.

Edits of fanart without permission may be considered impolite.

prompter:???

The user who wrote the prompt to produce an image with AI.

subspoiler

Number of characters and species

There may be confusing situations where the picture doesn't show any worms as characters, but as minor decorative elements (or an entire Sphinx parody, hello WFUS). Not sure how to act then.

solo

The image depicts only one character. This does not necessarily have to be a worm, considering creature weapons and non-worm characters in Worms Blast.

solo_focus

The image depicts 2 or more characters, but focuses on one. Additional characters don't have to be fully visible, e.g. if you see an offscreen character's hand, it counts as a character.

non-worm_focus

Images focusing on objects / characters who aren't worms. If the image doesn't show any worms, use "no_worms" instead.

1worm

Aliases: 1_worm, one_worm, single_worm, solo_worm, worm_solo

Images showing a single worm. NOT synonymous with "solo", as the picture may not necessarily depict only the worm.

multiple_worms

Aliases: several_worms, 2+worms

Implied by: 2worms, 3worms, 4worms, 5worms, 6worms, 7worms, 8worms, 8+worms

Images showing 2 or more worms. Distant background worms count.

In confusing situations where Earthworm Jim meets Team17 worms, instead of counting or ignoring EJ this tag alone could be used.

2worms

Aliases: 2_worms, two_worms

Implies: multiple_worms

Images showing 2 worms. NOT synonymous with "duo", as the picture may not necessarily depict only the two worms.

3worms

Aliases: 3_worms, three_worms

Implies: multiple_worms

Images showing 2 worms. NOT synonymous with "trio", as the picture may not necessarily depict only the three worms.

4worms

Aliases: 4_worms, four_worms

Implies: multiple_worms

Images showing 4 worms.

Tags "5worms", "6worms", "7worms" and "8worms" would be analogous.

8+worms

Aliases: more_than_8_worms

Implies: multiple_worms

Images showing more than 8 worms. Distant background worms count.

worm_only

Images showing only worms (typically). This tag may ignore very minor presence of other species, like a bird silhouette in the distance or flies used to indicate that something is foul-smelling. This tag also ignores creature decor, e.g. deer on Christmas sweaters or coonskin caps seemingly made out of actual raccoons.

no_worms

Images that don't show any worms but are still Worms related. For example, official concept art of landcsapes and items, fanmade models of Worms weapons, fanart of Worms Blast characters who aren't worms and memes about Worms that don't show worms.

animal

Implied by: sheep, super_sheep, skunk, mole, cow, bird, pigeon, homing_pigeon, furry...

Images showing non-worm animals, such as sheep, cows and pigeons.

furry

Alias: anthro_animal, animal_anthro

Implies: animal

Anthropomorphic animal. Do NOT use this tag for worms, tag an anthro worm's appearance with "alternate_anatomy" and whatever body parts they have.

subspoiler

Characters

boggy_b

Alias: boggyb

Implies: male, male_worm

Worm mentioned in the Wormsongs. He has a physical appearance in Worms Blast (playable character, plain appearance) and the G4 games (where he is considered a weapon as he can be summoned to throw a grenade; he wears an orange combat helmet with goggles and an ammunition bandolier).

I don't know if this tag should be applied to images that have this name written right next to the worm? Artists interpret him however they want, as well as a plain worm.

suzette

Implies: female, female_worm, hair_bow, red_bow, bow

Playable female worm in Worms Blast. She is Boggy B's sister. She wears a big red bow on her head.

I know she doesn't have hair, but people don't call accessories like this a "head bow", do they?

supreme_being

Alias: supremebeing, worm_god, god_worm

Implies: male, male_worm, headwear, crown

Divine worm in Worms Forts: Under Siege. He can be summoned with a totem to initiate a flood, earthquake, armageddon, nuclear explosion or electric storm. He wears a crown (which is not available in customisation), and in the artwork he also has a fake grey moustache with beard.

professor_worminkle

Aliases: prof_worminkle, worminkle

Implies: male, male_worm, old, hair, white_hair, balding, facial_hair, moustache, glasses, half_moon_reading_glasses

Worm who acts as the tutor and the main antagonist in Worms 4: Mayhem and Worms: Ultimate Mayhem. He runs his own university and he built a time machine. If the player completes the campaign, they can use his hair, moustache and glasses in customisation.

soldier_(worm)

Aliases: soldier_worm

Implies: g4

One of the 4 worm classes in the G4 games. The Soldier is a balanced worm. In Worms: Clan Wars and Worms Battlegrounds he can manually blow up timed weapons.

scout_(worm)

Aliases: scout_worm

Implies: g4

One of the 4 worm classes in the G4 games. He is smaller and thinner compared to the Soldier, but may be indistinguishable from him if they're not in the same scene. The Scout has higher movement speed, longer jumps and increased Jetpack duration, but deals less damage and can be flung further. In Worms: Clan Wars and Worms Battlegrounds he can peek at crates' contents at the start of his turn and doesn't trigger landmines. His voice is higher pitched than the Soldier's.

scientist_(worm)

Aliases: scientist_worm

Implies: g4

One of the 4 worm classes in the G4 games. He is small like the Scout and has a large cranium. His damage is between those of the Soldier and the Scout. In Worms: Revolution, he grants 5 HP to every worm on his team (including himself) each turn. In Worms: Clan Wars and Worms Battlegrounds he increases his teammates' HP only when close to them.

heavy_(worm)

Aliases: heavy_worm

Implies: g4

One of the 4 worm classes in the G4 games. He is big and bulky compared to the Soldier. He deals more damage and doesn't get flung as far, but he is slow, doesn't jump well and uses up Jetpack fuel very quickly. In Worms: Clan Wars and Worms Battlegrounds the explosions produced by his weapons and death are larger. His voice is lower pitched than the Soldier's.

oc

Aliases: original_character, originalcharacter, fc, fancharacter, fan_character

Any fanmade character created for the Worms universe. Wormified versions of real people or fictional characters are NOT OCs.

I don't know if "sigworm" should be an alias or a separate tag implying this, as sigworms were made to represent Dream17 forum members, but they're not exactly wormsonas, from what I understood.

wormified

Implies: species_swap

Implied by: wormsona

Any non-worm character depicted as a worm. May intersect with "cosplay" or "crossover".

wormsona

Implies: species_swap, wormified

Representation of oneself as a worm, basically worm equivalent of a fursona.

non-worms_worm

When the image shows a worm not associated with Worms, e.g. Earthworm Jim or a regular earthworm.

subspoiler

Physical details

no_eyebrows

Worms who clearly have no eyebrows, as they don't have bangs or headwear that could hide them. This tag is ONLY for worms.

unusual_skin_colour

Aliases: unusually_coloured_worm, unusual_skin_color, unusually_colored_worm

Worms with a skin colour other than the one similar to a white person's skin colour or a real earthworm, like aqua, purple, yellow, brown, etc. This tag is ONLY for worms.

unusual_eyebrow_colour

Aliases: unusual_eyebrow_color, unusually_coloured_eyebrows, unusually_colored_eyebrows

Worms with eyebrows in any colour that a human can't have naturally. Worms Rumble features those. This tag is ONLY for worms.

segmented_body

Worms with more realistic segmented bodies. Official art for G1 depicts worms with bodies like that.

coloured_eyes

Alias: colored_eyes

Implied by: *colour*_eyes...

Worms with any eye colour other thank black (no visible irises). Worms Rumble features eyes that show colour very clearly. This tag is ONLY for worms.

brown_eyes

Implies: coloured_eyes

Worms with brown eyes. Do NOT use this for Worms W.M.D worms, unless the eye colour is different from the outline colour. This tag is ONLY for worms.

grey_eyes

Alias: gray_eyes

Implies: coloured_eyes

Worms with grey eyes. This tag is ONLY for worms.

etc.

nose

Alias: worm_nose

Nose on a worm. This tag is ONLY for worms.

Only G1 worms have noses in-game. Official art for G1 and some G2 covers also show worms with noses.

alternate_anatomy

Aliases: alt_anatomy, altered_anatomy, noncanon_anatomy

Implied by: arms, legs

Worms having any of the following body parts: breasts/male breasts, complete arms, legs, buttocks. The point of this tag is to give a simple way to blacklist most "off-model" worms.

arms

Alias: worm_arms

Implies: alternate_anatomy

Arms on a worm. This tag is ONLY for worms.

Only G1 worms have arms in-game. Worms also have arms on the covers for G1 and some G2 games, but have never been officially depicted with those again from Worms Blast (2002) onward, ignoring updated releases of G2 games.

If an offscreen character's hands are in the picture, use "disembodied_hands" for those.

legs

Alias: worm_legs

Implies: alternate_anatomy

Legs on a worm. This tag is ONLY for worms.

disembodied_hands

Do NOT use this tag for worms. This tag is for when you can see an offscreen character's hands.

genital_slit

Implies: genitalia

A genital slit is like a sheath but completely inside of the body, may look like a vulva when a penis is not poking out of it.

subspoiler

Media

traditional_art

Art made with traditional (non-digital) tools, e.g. pencil, pen, markers, paint.

digital_art

Art produced with a computer or other technological device. Do NOT use this for AI-generated images and 3D posing content, these are not considered art here.

3d

Implied by: 3d_posing

Any Worms imagery that is 3D. If it's a fanmade model, also use "digital_art".

unconventional_art

An umbrella tag for anything not that's not digital or traditional media, such as plasticine figurines. Do NOT use this for figurines from Worms: The Board Game.

mixed_media

Artwork in which more than one medium or material has been employed, such as a combination of traditional media and digital (computer-based) media, or a drawing on top of photo background.

If you don't know what type of media was used in the image, don't tag any.

fmv

Aliases: full-motion_video, full_motion_video, prerendered_cutscene, pre-rendered_cutscene

Implies: 3d

Screenshots and videos of pre-rendered cutscenes from the older Worms games.

3d_posing

Implies: 3d, 3d_variants

Images with OFFICIAL 3D worm models posed in 3rd party software: Garry's Mod, Source Filmmaker and Miku Miku Dance. Animations using such models also need to be tagged with this. Do NOT use this for fanmade worm models.

I don't know if this tag would be suitable for images taken in XomView and programs like Blender.

exploitable_meme

Implies: meme

Tag used for meme images that follow a premade template or convention. These are mostly made via copy-pasting multiple images together or adding some text to an image.

ai_content

Implied by: ai-generated, ai_voice, ai_cover

Any content made using AI.

ai-generated

Aliases: machine_learning_generated, ai_image, ai_picture, ai_art

Implies: ai_content

Images made fully or mostly by an artificial intelligence program.

I do not consider AI images to be art, but added "ai_art" to the aliases mainly out of convenience concerns.

subspoiler

Other

tagme

This tag is intended to help find images that are tagged insufficiently. Subjective and depends on various factors, e.g. a picture of one plain worm on a simple background doesn't need as much tagging as a complex composition with multiple characters with different visual traits on a detailed background.

If the picture needs an artist tag or source, use "artist_needed" and "source_needed" correspondingly. These tags may be used together with "tagme".

monochrome

Implied by: greyscale

Pictures done fully or mostly in a limited colour palette, sometimes greyscale.

text

Implied by: text_focus, profanity, *language*_text...

For images that have text, except signatures and watermarks. Text in any language other than English should be also tagged by language (e.g. "spanish_text", "russian_text).

I don't know if this should be applied to logos and minor cases of texts like a decorative letter or a number.

text_focus

Implies: text

The image is text only, or text is the main point. This kind of "images" should be kept to a minimum.

profanity

Aliases: adult_language, bad_word, bad_language

Implies: text

Words that are considered inappropriate to say in presence of children. Use "censored_profanity" if it's censored. Do NOT use this tag if you can't recognise the censored word.

censored_profanity

Implies: censor

Words that are partly or fully censored, e.g. with a black bar or symbols. Use with "profanity" if you can recognise the censored word.

obtrusive_watermark

Implies: watermark

Big watermark that gets in the way of viewing the image, e.g. a DeviantArt or Photobucket one.

irl

Aliases: in_real_life, real_life

Photos of things in real life, or photos with characters drawn/photoshopped in.

There's a grey area for photos of traditional art. If you see only the sheet with the artwork (art tools may or may not be present), do NOT use this tag.

alternate_version

Aliases: alt_version, alternative_version

This tag is to be used instead of "edit" when the artist makes an alternate version for their own work. The image that is thought to be the "original" shouldn't use this tag.

derivative

If you see some fanart and feel that it looks suspiciously similar to official art, and you can confirm it, it probably should be tagged with this. Images with this tag may be traced or outright plagiarized. Do NOT use this for edits.

weapon-related tags

I'm not well-versed in weapons, they would be tagged of course, but I'm not sure what broader tags could be used, especially for guns.

There's no signifcant visual difference between cluster bombs and regular grenades in general, tagging them would require to know which is which. In a case of pure "tag what you see" scenario and not researching the weapons, cluster bombs would not be distinguished from regular grenades at all.

I also have this idea that baseball bats shouldn't be tagged as weapons if there's no context hinting at their use as a weapon (e.g. actually being used to play baseball and not to hit others)

super_sheep

Alias: supersheep

Implies: sheep, animal

Implied by: calvin

Animal weapon. Unlike the regular Sheep, the Super Sheep flies up into the air and its flight can be controlled. It also wears a red cape.

Worms Blast features a playable Super Sheep named Calvin.

old_woman

Implies: female, human, old

Implied by: ethel

Human weapon. The Old Woman walks slowly before exploding. In some games she can be steered (3D variants only), detonated manually and forced to let out a poisonous fart cloud.

Worms Blast features a playable Old Woman named Ethel.

headwear

Implies: clothing

Implied by: combat_helmet, stalhelm, cap, baseball_cap, peaked_cap, hard_hat, top_hat, turban, rabbit_ears_hadband, kabuto, beanie, party_hat...

Clothing items worn on the worm's head. This tag is ONLY for worms.

For things like hairclips and hairbows use "hair_accessory" instead.

topwear

Implies: clothing

Any piece of clothing covering the worm's upper body, like a shirt. This tag is ONLY for worms.

bottomwear

Implies: clothing

Any piece of clothing covering the worm's lower body, like pants or a skirt. This tag is ONLY for worms.

one-piece_suit

Implies: clothing

Any piece of clothing covering the worm's upper and lower body, like an onesie or dress. Worms Rumble features clothes of this type. This tag is ONLY for worms.

hair_accessory

Implies: accessory

Accessories decorating the worm's hair. Can be also used for hairbows that are mysteriously attached to a bald worm's head. This tag is ONLY for worms.

glasses

Implies: accessory

Worms wearing glasses of any kind, but not monocles. This tag is ONLY for worms.

cosplay

Character dressed up as another character. May intersect with "wormified" or "crossover".

lgbtq

Complications of worm gendering

I'm a simple person, normally I assume worms to be male if they don't look like girls to me. But, I sat down to think how worms would be tagged by gender if they're not anthrofied, and... I'm not 100% sure about it...

For characters who aren't well-known and whose gender is hard to determine, Boorus prioritise gendering with the "tag what you see" principle rather than the artist's intention, although E621 also uses tags like "male_(lore) and "female_(lore)" in addition to the regular gender tags.

The "mixed body parts" refers to the possibility of an intersex character, who'd have a generally masculine body with a vulva or the opposite. It's pretty unlikely though.

The funny thing about the worm edited to have multicoloured short hair is that I originally meant to portray a male. Conversely, Suzette, who is obviously meant to be a female, is bald.

For worms who aren't antrofied, maybe gendered worm tags would be only necessary for canon characters and could be optional in other cases.

Soundbank tagging dilemma

This section assumes that video (and maybe audio?) files would be supported. I know that Philomena supports videos.

I don't know if there would be a point to tagging soundbanks, and if they were, I imagine there would be a lot of confusion with SBs coming from different games that have the same name or have a similar concept. If the same soundbank is used in multiple games (like "Scouser" in Worms 2 and Worms Reloaded), the game specification would prioritise the earliest use (in this case the tag would be "scouser_(worms2)"). I don't think even the most patient and open-minded Worms fans would check the entire franchise to research soundbanks, it would have to be a collective effort. In any case, I'll drop a few ideas.

soundbank

Alias: speechbank, sb

Set of phrases that worms say during gameplay.

unofficial_soundbank

Implies: soundbank

Any soundbank that doesn't exist in any game by default AND was player-made, like a soundbank made with voicelines of a cartoon character, a celebrity, the player's own voice, etc.

imported_soundbank

Implies: soundbank

Any soundbank that was adapted from one Worms game to another via in-game / modding means. Do NOT use this tag if a soundbank is officially reused after being made for another game.

whoopsie_(soundbank)

Aliases: whoopsie_sb, whoopsie_voice, whoopsie_speech

Implies: soundbank

Any soundbank named "Whoopsie". These soundbanks are based on a British gay stereotype, sexually suggestive and may be deemed offensive.

whoopsie_(worms2)

Alias: whoopsie_(wa)

Implies: soundbank, whoopsie_(soundbank)

Whoopsie soundbank from Worms 2, which is reused across G2, although it's removed in some newer releases. Unlike most soundbanks, it's not pitch-shifted.

blues_man_(w3d)

Implies: soundbank, blues_man_(soundbank)

Blues Man soundbank from Worms 3D.

russian_(wum)

Implies: soundbank, russian_(soundbank)

Russian soundbank from Worms: Ultimate Mayhem. Unlike most soundbanks in the game, it did not previously exist in Worms 4: Mayhem.

Do I even need to say anything?

solo_worm / worm_solo

Tag the image with with "worm_only, solo, 1worm". For searching, "worm_only, solo" is enough.

Worms have small pupils by default. Worms Rumble is an exception.

black_eyes

Worms usually don't have any defined eye colour.

pink_skin

Worms have pink skin by default. However, if the worm's skin is an unnatural shade of pink, you can tag it with "unusual_skin_colour, pink_skin".

black_eyebrows

Worms have black eyebrows by default. Worms Rumble is an exception.

english_text

Worms is a UK franchise, the English language is native for it. If you see text and it's English, tag it with just "text".
